Two Rivers Event & Auction 2011

Two Rivers Pavilion in Louisville, TN is a beautiful gathering place

where we have joined with teachers, administrators, and others to experience a kick-off to the main event at the Tennessee Theatre. Last year, Inky Johnson inspired us with his moving testimony about growing up a talented, but troubled, youth in Georgia. After his coach pulled him under his wing, Inky excelled in football and all signs pointed to an NFL career until a freak injury during a UT game damaged his arm beyond repair.

His faith in God and determination to overcome adversity are powerful motivators for all who hear his story.

This year brings an exciting change in the focus of our Two Rivers event from a pep rally to fundraiser. As we plan for our annual event at the Tennessee Theatre, we hope to fill every seat in the house. Planning such a large event and providing tickets free of charge to anyone who wants to come and be inspired is quite a financial undertaking. Our goal is to raise enough money to fund a ticket for every teacher or influencer of young people who wants to join us in November. We are thrilled to announce that we will host our first silent and live auction and fundraising event September 20th!

Our mission remains to inspire and motivate adults so that they may mentor and encourage youth in their realm of influence, and make the most of every opportunity. Someone who knows about the fragility of each day is Vallie Collins, a survivor of "The Miracle on the Hudson" plane crash in 2009. Along with a delicious dinner and unique auction, the audience will hear Vallie share insights and wisdom gained through her life-threatening experience and living in the moment.

Vallie Collins

“There is no question it was a mile marker in my life,” says Vallie. “You don’t go through an experience like that and come out of it unchanged. I have a deeper appreciation for life. I take time to live a little every day and am determined not to get so caught up in the hustle and bustle.”

This year is sure to be exciting! We appreciate your interest and would be thrilled if you could help spread the word. Perhaps you know a family or group who would enjoy a nice dinner, an entertaining auction, and hearing Vallie Collins while supporting an organization that lifts up their school and community. We hope that you will join us at Two Rivers Pavilion September 20, 2011 at 6:30pm and are so very grateful for your support of Reach Them to Teach Them.

Here are some photos from one incredible evening by the river. If you missed it, hope you join us next year!
