Who we are, where we've been & where we're going...
In the spring of 2006, a Knox County school teacher was feeling weary and needed a firm reminder why she should keep teaching after nearly 20 years in the classroom. After prayer and reflection, she turned to an old cassette recording of Dr. Guy Doud sharing his insights as National Teacher of the Year. She responded to his enthusiasm and passion in a new way — and she just couldn't keep it to herself.
What if every teacher was inspired and motivated to help each student reach their full potential?
What if? is a powerful question only when the response is action. God created a spark in her heart that day and ignited what would become Reach Them to Teach Them by answering countless prayers and surrounding her with a Dream Team of volunteers. The team continues to grow and live up to their name because they donate their time, talent and most importantly, their prayers to serve the Lord and others through this mission. No one draws a salary, no one stands to gain anything the world considers valuable, but the treasure lies in hidden places and the returns are exponential. Amy Crawford prefers to keep her name out of it. This mission isn't about her; it isn't about the Dream Team—this mission is ultimately about THE ONE. With the leading of His Spirit, Reach Them to Teach Them events have grown from the sanctuary of a west Knoxville church to the majestic Tennessee Theatre and beyond.
The possibilities are infinite.
